I know I'm probably very premature for most of us, but I wanted to start a FINISHED thread. No pressure though! This is supposed to be fun! Take as long as you need! Post here with a link to your thread when you are done!
I'll start - I finished today, 5/8/10, and here's my link to my thread:

Congratulations indeed. I may not have commented on your thread but that doesn't mean to say I didn't find it an interesting one. I'll be following your next challenge as well.
6lindapanzo
Congrats on finishing, Cindy!! I'll also be following your 1010 x 2 thread.
8cmbohn
Thanks! It was a lot of fun, although I started to get a little overwhelmed near the end. I need to remember to pace myself better so that I don't leave all the more serious stuff for the end.
10cmbohn
Bumping this, as I know we have several more folks who have finished. Post here, and let us all cheer for you!
13mathgirl40
Congratulations, Pamela!
14GingerbreadMan
Wow, Cindy and Pamela, you are like some east african long distance runners... Bronze medal still up for grabs, it seems?
15mathgirl40
14: Do I get the bronze medal, GingerbreadMan? :-)
I'm all done, as well! My thread is here: http://www.librarything.com/topic/72070.

Cindy are you going to put a ticker in the OP to show how many have finished? I'm hoping to get there before the end of the year.
21MarthaJeanne
My plan was to have a full 10 x 10 challenge for fiction in English and stepped challenges for non-fiction in English and books read in German.
I have finished the stepped nonfiction challenge, so I think I'd like to make it a full one. So far it is in one message of my English challenge, but I'd better give it its own topic.

Hurrah!! Finished my 1010 Challenge today. Already looking forward to the 11 in 11 Challenge next year. I plan on continuing to post about the books I am reading so please drop on by!
26mathgirl40
Congratulations, DeltaQueen! Glad you'll be continuing in the 11 in 11 challenge.
27lindapanzo
Good job, DeltaQueen!!
I'm thinking I will join you around Thanksgiving or so, unless I get distracted by all those non-1010 books I want to read.

#23 Congratulations Judy! I will probably join the finishers maybe at the end of October. We'll see how it goes. I too am distracted by other books, they taunt me!
29soffitta1
Finished! I did start in October though. I have already started planning for the 11 in 11!

Congratulations Soffitta! How you going to amuse yourself till year-end? Planning on a mini-challenge or anything?
34soffitta1
Thanks all! Such a fun challenge, and it had never felt like a chore. Actually I have enjoyed trying to slot books in.
re 31
I am also doing some challenges with Bookcrossing. 52 1001 books in 2010 and 50 Olympic Challenge books in 2010. In both I still have a long way to go, especially as now I am away from home and at the mercy of the selection of books in book exchanges.
I am also having fun trying to work out the categories for next year.

Congratulations to all who finished, and I want to add myself to the list,
I started on 10-10-2009, and finished 23-09-2010. My thread is here.. I read 10 books in 10 categories. A lot of fun, but it did get a lot harder in the end, because I just was reading what I wanted to and trying to fit that in my categories.
Next year I have to go on a book buying diet (due to budgeting) so maybe next years challenge will help me to rediscover my TBR pile.

I'm done with the challenge! There were times I thought I couldn't stand being as restricted as I needed to be to get through it, and curses passed my lips more than once, but I'm so glad I did this. Some of the books I read, such as Herodotus, the Presidential bios, and some of the prize winners and science titles, were books I might have let slide except for plodding on for this challenge. Now I'm pumped for the 2011 challenge and will probably start in November, after I have a chance to catch up on some TBR which won't make it onto next year's list. Hope to see you all in 2011!

Great job! I know what you mean about feeling restricted. I'm reading at whim now because I know in January I'll be back to reading by list, although I left myself more wiggle room this time, I hope.
49DeltaQueen50
Everyday I see more are finishing with this challenge. Congratulations to all, and hope you had (and are continuing to have) a good reading year.
50cbl_tn
I'm done with the challenge! I finished my final book this evening, The Hemingway Book Club of Kosovo. I've read some great books during the challenge as well as some not so great books. I'm glad I ended with one of the better ones!
I'm not starting the 11/11 challenge until January. I have a few categories I'll be focusing on for the rest of this year, but I'm not setting a goal for the number of books in each category. We'll see what happens.

Congratulations MarthaJeanne. Looks as though you've read way more than 100 books this year.
59DeltaQueen50
Yes, Congrats MarthaJeanne. I think you did this Challenge in 3 ways - Fiction, Non-Fiction and German. Well done!
61MarthaJeanne
So far I only have the German and Nonfiction as stepped challenges, so I'm still working on those. But I still have two months.
62laura_88
I'm done too! :) http://www.librarything.com/topic/71710

It was merely a humble stepped challenge, but on saturday I wrapped it up! My thread is here: http://www.librarything.com/topic/92440#2009264
I plan to stick around to fill up my bonus category (six books to go there), and very likely beyond that too.

I've finished my 1010 challenge (10 books in each of 10 categories plus a 20-book "next in the series" bonus).
Next up will be a lot of dabbling, trying to read some holiday fiction, get caught up on ER books etc. All organized into a bit of a mini-challenge to myself.

Congratulations to everyone who's finished!
I've just read my 100th qualifying book and finally crossed the line - although I confess to resorting to a few sneaky novellas (and even some that are borderline short story length) in the final stages just to get the there.

Yay, I finished my last book this morning. Completed 10 books in 10 categories with some bonus reads. I had to substitute a category along the way as I found I had no desire to read historical novels this year!
Congratulations to everyone who finished and I wish good reading time over the holidays to those still to complete the challenge.
And special congratulations to squeakychu who finished the challenge yesterday and is still doing her happy dance.

I'm actually a couple of days late because I started last Christmas, but I have now finished my nonfiction challenge http://www.librarything.com/topic/96643.
I have also wound up my German challenge. I either did 10 books each in 8 categories or 8 books each in 10 categories. http://www.librarything.com/topic/79212.
I'd like to try to balance these a bit better next year so that I'm not madly trying to fill certain categories at the last minute.

I've finished my challenge and look forward to 11 in 11. My challenge was at least 2 books in each category. I ended up with 4 books in most of the categories and I am very happy with what I acomplished. This next year I am going for 4 books in each category. Thanks to everyone who commented on my thread. It was a lot of fun!

I finished and forgot to jump over here to post. I'm so behind and catching up with threads and starting new threads. But I'm done and ready to go for next year. I think I'll just stop and count anything this week for next year.

Although I haven't yet finished my last book for the challenge ( about halfway through The Voyage of the Beagle which is 500 slow pages) I do feel that this was a successful year for reading as I read a variety of nonfiction as well as a lot of my favorite genre fiction (35 bonus fiction plus lots of rereads). I'll be starting my "11 in 11" thread soon!
Congratulations to everyone who finished and to all the participants who feel they accomplished a lot of what they entered the challenge hoping to do. After all, the journey is the important thing.
