Just started buying off E-Bay recently, and just got a great deal today. Found a 1st edition copy of the Library of America's Mark Twain Mississippi Tales volume for $10 plus shipping. It was the member edition with the slipcase. Needless to say, I'm very happy. :)

One seldom regrets a book actually purchased. It's the ones we don't buy that can haunt us.
I had not heard of "Library of America" before so I Googled it and found:

My quick interpretation is that this is a book club of sorts and fairly recent at that?
Are you especially happy with the purchase because you are building a collection of their publications?

I believe LOA was started in 1979 and first published in 1982 making it around 30 years old. They are a non-profit that only publishes American (US) literature. They produce high quality smallish octavio sized volumes in hardcover for very reasonable prices. One can buy their books in retail or join their club and get a discount plus the slipcase instead of a dust jacket. There is an LOA LibraryThing group.
