Any body read Alexander Mccall Smith's 44 Scotland St?
I'm completely at a loss for how to tag it. Currently its got my three letter author tag and that's it. It could get Scotland or Edinborugh but I don't tag by place, as most of my library is fantasy or SF and as such it isn't relevant.

Well, what do you tag by?
Is there a term for novels based on newspaper columns? "Episodic novel"? Tales of the City is another such work, and I see that some people have tagged that "short stories".

I tag by genre normally, but I'll be expanding that into themes sometime in the not-too-distant future. Plus sort tags.
Scotland street has got some tags as detective an mystery but that doesn't quite seem right to me. Maybe episodic novel. I'll think about it.

I tag fiction by time period (e.g., "20th century fiction" and, if not originally in English, by country or general area, e.g., "French literature," "South American literature." I also tag genre fiction, e.g., "mystery." But the beauty of LT is that you can tag however you want to.

I know. But in this particular instance I'm struggling for inspiration. Somewhat how I felt when reading the book to be honest.

44 Scotland Street is definitely not a mystery, or a detective novel. I wonder if people just used that relying on tags from other series by Smith?
