If one browses through my collection of photographic monographs, they'll find some of the "classier" (for lack of a better word) shots by Roy Stuart, Eric Kroll, and Chas Ray Krider. But I also like the seamier side of images by Richard Kern, Nobuyoshi Araki, and Natacha Merritt.

What collections of photography do you recommend that fall into either one of these categories? (Or both?)

Can't say. I have the instructive Naked New York and Naked Los Angeles by Greg Friedler and the marvelous Naked Happy Girls by Andrew Einhorn as well as Femalia by Joani Blank, which I found to be more earthy than clinical or erotic. They all feature real people. Most of whom, it must be said, look better with their clothes on, but nonetheless the species reproduces.
