Ok, so I'm still in the process of adding my library and I came across a really sweet, funny, at times outrageously funny book I discovered a few summers back. It's called Last Days of Summer by an author named Steve Kluger and it made me wonder what books my fellow Bostonians might have in their libraries that had them laughing out loud as they read?

When I read Created in Darkness by Troubled Americans on the T, I was laughing out loud and getting more than my share of strange looks. I've gotten used to being stared at on the subway now, though.

I laughed so hard I literally cried when I read A CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES for the first time (and the second, and the third).

I really need to read a Confederacy of Dunces again. I think I was a little too young when I read it, because it didn't impress me, but everyone I know loves it.

I laugh out loud reading anything by David Sedaris but especially his essays and especially those in Me Talk Pretty One Day. I can't read his stuff in public or people wonder if I'm high!

I was out of the country on an archaeological dig when I first read David Sedaris. We only had a handful of books in English, which got passed around in our group, and Me Talk Pretty One Day was the one we all fought over.

Terry Pratchett's Discworld books, especially those about the City Watch or the witches.

Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books usually make me laugh out loud.....often getting me odd looks when I just happen to be reading one of them on the subway!
