Does anyone catalog periodicals on LT? I ask because I have a few, both professional journals and more general interest, that I get now.
This may become more important as more and more are offered by the online sites or as an option from memberships in professional organizations.

Hi, philn! I was wondering that myself just this morning, and did a "Search Talk" for the words "catalog periodicals" on the www.librarything/talk page. It pulled up four conversations going back to 2007, and your post too. Accordingly, I settled on cataloging a single-copy literary review with the periodical name followed by the single-volume title; the editor (since that's material to the way I'll use it); the contributors under "Other Authors" (because that's also important here); the particular issue date under "Publication Date"; the ISSN under "ISBN" (yeah, it's not really what that field's for); and the volume and number under "Comments." Please see http://www.librarything.com/work/9963387/book/60268970, if you're really interested. It looks like this approach is similar to other LT users' cataloging of various Granta Magazine issues, which -- luckily! -- I'll also have to deal with very soon. Take a look, and let me know if you have other thoughts, questions or comments. Good luck, and thanks, jasbro
