Proposal for two LT Kindle groups to merge

There is a new ability in the groups lists, to suggest combining of groups to avoid duplication. I've proposed that the Amazon Kindle group join with the Kindley Book Blub, and and the vote bar shows at the top of the main page for both this group and the other. There may be a reason there are two, but if so, I'm unaware of it. At any rate, either outcome is OK with me, but I wanted people in both groups to notice that this vote is being done.

I would rather see the Kindley Boook Club merged into this one. I just don't like the cutesy name "Kindley"

Makes sense to merge the two.

It appears that Tim Spaulding, LT's owner, has decided to handle the group combination issue in a different manner, so he has removed the votes. Given the results our two groups had when I last checked, though, (most in favor, 2 not in favor), I'm wondering if the listowners might talk and see if it would benefit us to join forces.

Does anyone have any idea what will be done about combining groups?

My understanding is that nothing will be done.

I think if the group originators ask, Tim will combine them. I also think it's a great idea.

An alternative would be for the originators to decide which group to use and have us all sub to one and unsub from the other. A note could be left on the page of the defunct group directing them onward.

Hey Guys, I am the originator of the Kindley Book Club and I have no problem merging groups if that is what everyone wants, just let me know what I need to do.

I would be agreeable to a merger but I would prefer that the name be Kindley Book Club.

I would like to see both groups merged, but 'kindley' sounds a bit childish. How about 'Kindle group'?

Both originating posters are ok with the groups joining, but when I tried a while ago, I was unable to get the LT powers-that-be to effect the change. Maybe someone else would like to give it a try.

As I recall, there was discussion about letting groups combine but then the plan was cancelled.
