I hadn't heard of this book until I saw it on eBay yesterday (I think). Does anyone know anything about it? My daughter is a serious lace knitter and I was wondering if she would find it useful. And it's by Barbara Walker, after all, so it can't be bad, can it?

Thanks!

I haven't read that one, but as you say ~ it can't be bad if it's by Barbara Walker. I think Kelley Petkun on the KnitPicks Podcast was talking about lace books just one or two podcasts ago. I'm sure she mentioned this one, but I may be wrong.

If you already have the first three treasuries, you'll find that these single-subject books are taken from them - I have the "multicolor" book - they enfold all (or most) of the stitches in that category from each of the treasuries into a single volume.

Good to know calotype. I have often wondered if there is overlap in the stitch patterns.

Anything by her is amazing. Also School House Press is re-releasing Susana Lewis' Lace Workshop which has been out of print for many years. It is a masterpiece!

I went and bought the book on eBay. It is like the "Mosaic Knitting" book by Barbara Walker, too, a collection of all the patterns of that type from her Treasuries. Good book, my daughter loves it. "Mosaic Knitting" is somewhat known, but this one isn't.
