...because we're dorks when it comes to our dogs.

Finnegan's birthday is the 6th of September. We're planning a small birthday party for him Wednesday afternoon. Of course to rationalize the party, we had to invite a couple of 6 year olds. Then, not to be left out, their sisters (who are 10 & 11) wanted to come. So, as of right now, we have 5 kids coming to play with Finnegan for his birthday.

I've got a couple of "doggie" cake recipes lined up, and am going to make bone shape cookies for the humans. We'll also have pizza for the humans.

Thinking of games:
Catch the Puppy- They have to get the ribbon off Finnegan's tail.
Dog Catchers and Puppies- A version of Cops & Robbers (otherwise known as capture the flag).
Sprinkler!- Finnegan's favorite pastime.

Will get. The cakes are baked. I actually made the puppy cake into mini bunt cakes. All I have to do tomorrow is put the icing on both cakes. I'll try not to get them mixed up. ;)

I had planned on getting up early to wrap birthday presents and make puppy chow for our human guests. I didn't go to bed until about 2, so didn't notice when Finn didn't wake me up in time. He normally wakes me up right before the alarm goes off. I barely had enough time to dress and grab my purse.

Anywho....I have a meeting today after work. It is supposed to be over at 4:15 (let's hope it gets out early). Now I have to order pizza for the kids.

#4 -- Wow, if Sophie lets me sleep until it's time for the alarm to go off, it's a rare day indeed! Usually she is walking all over me about an hour before alarm time. I growl at her, and she leaves me alone for a while. Then, when the alarm does go off, she gets really excited because she knows I am going to get up and feed her.

What fun! Finnegan looks like he had lots of fun. (His guests did too!) The question I have is... How did you get him to leave his party hat on?!

He didn't really mind it being on. We had to double loop the elastic string on his head (b/c the string was too big), but he was fine with it on.
