Hello, Can anyone suggest Science Fiction books containing erotica?

this link might come in handy: http://io9.com/5096491/ten-of-the-kinkiest-science-fiction-books-youll-ever-read

i have not read most of those on that list, though (for now) :P

Oooo! Good link; I love io9.

I really enjoyed the short story collection Sex in the System. I think that Cecilia Tan (who was the editor) also has some other anthologies that are sf related, though I've not read them yet.

You might get some ideas from a science fiction/erotica tagmash, too:

That's excellent folks, thanks for your replies. I'm sure there are plenty more out there. Also, I didn't know about 'tagmash' so I've learnt something else today!

Has anyone here read the Alien Huntress series, with the first being Awaken Me Darkly by Gena Showalter? Any good?

Morgan Hawke if you like BDSM.

I don't know which of his stories would best qualify as "erotica," but Sturgeon wrote some of the best SF treating themes of sexuality, and virtually all of his stories are about love in some larger sense. Godbody doesn't really count as science fiction in my book, but it's better-than-average erotica.

Oh, and there are some noteworthy graphic novels out there, including--but hardly limited to--all of the Druuna books by Serpieri, Noe's Ship of Fools, and the Skin Tight Orbit collections.

In www.bdsmlibrary.com/stories/search.php, a free site, there is a selection mode to pull up erotic Sci-Fi stories.

Loose Id has a strong SFF leaning in its erotica, and there's some great SF stories for sale. I'm currently reading An Uncommon Whore, which I'm really enjoying (it's m/m, though, so probably not for everyone!).

Love the ten kinkiest list!

Aishling Morgan's Tiger Tiger surely deserves a mention here - a BDSM fantasy in a world of animalistic hybrids. Possibly the most bizarre piece of erotica I've read. Also of note is The Sound of his Horn - framed as an alternate history dystopia, though Sarban's kinky fantasies aren't far beneath the surface. Philip Jose Farmer and Richard E. Geis have also made significant efforts in this area.

I'm not so keen on alien/animal stuff but what about relations between crew onboard ship or space stations?

The article linked in #2 makes a curious claim that John Norman's Tarnsman of Gor (1966) etc. were derivative of Janet Morris's High Couch of Silistra (1977) etc. Hm. Is it positing SF authors as time travellers?

You might want to try the short story collection Alien Sex edited by Ellen Datlow.

No, if you read carefully what it says is, "The 26 novels in John Norman's Gorean Saga no doubt inspired the "High Couch" series by Morris." No time travel needed for that.

And I tried to read the Gor series, and could not stop laughing at things that were NOT supposed to be funny.

Right you are. I wonder how I managed to read it backwards.

It is a gift. I have it too.

Obligatory link to Houseplants of Gor :)

I've read a couple of the Lawless Worlds series and they were lighthearted and well-lubricated, with an action plot to keep you from getting bored.

Oh, that just ruined any chance I ever have of reading a Gor book again!

I just finished reading The Pollinators of Eden and posted my review. I thought it deserved mention on this thread.

The Kushiel series by Jacqueline Carey is supposed to be quite good, and hot, with BDSM leanings. Kushiel's Dart is the first one.
And almost anything with Cecilia Tan's name attached. She's been writing and editing 'spicy' SF for decades.

Oh, YES to Cecilia Tan - I quite liked The Velderet

I am writing and self-publishing a web serial novel titled Verge of History: Our Time in Eden. It is free to read it at:

http://VergeOfHistory.com/Pub/Eden

VoH:OTIE is not foremost an erotic story but it contains a heap of eroticism. The main character Renee is a contemporary of ours who died and was cryopreserved until her revival nearly 300 years later. Among other things she finds the world is much more hedonistic and libertine. Renee comes with a history of failed relationships and one night stands as she starts into this new reality, exploring her own largely latent sexuality. The story is meant in part to give the reader a look into many currently taboo alternative lifestyles like homosexuality, polyamory, relationship anarchy, and BDSM.

Our Time in Eden is already 77k words at this time and the story is just getting started. The larger themes have yet to fully unfold but our main character is already discovering the strange world of the future.
