Who is the programmer?
Physicist and consciousness researcher, Thomas Campbell, Discusses the nature of reality in terms of consciousness -- this video logically and scientifically explains the normal and the paranormal, mind and matter, physics and metaphysics, philosophy and theology.

Interestingly, or perhaps not, the possibility that all life (or at least our consciousness) is only part of a giant simulation is part of the prevalent religion in one of Iain M Banks's recent novels, The Algebraist.
I won't bother mentioning the Matrix films. Silly movies.

Why can't I find a biography, with institutional affiliations, for this guy?
I want to know what kind of physics research he does, or has done. Or what his degree is in. Or... really, anything about him other than the fact that he's written some popular-press books about metaphysics.

I don't really want to chat with him. I want to see his c.v.
The only thing that I can find on the web is: 1) promotion for his book, 2) special talks he's done on the topic of consciousness, and 3) a few off-hand remarks stating that he is a physicist... but nothing more.
Where did he get his physics ph.d.? What was his research specialty? What papers has he published in the field of physics? How much peer-reviewed work has he published? Has he written anything other than those books he's always promoting? And so on.

8: I looked on his website. I couldn't see his cv.
Can you link me directly to his cv, please?

Really this whole 'simulation' idea is just a modern version of the Christain 'predestination'. We like to imagine that we're dandelion seeds bobbing on the winds of fate.

Tom Campbell graduated in 1966 with honours and majors in both Mathematics and Physics. A master's degree in Physics was granted by Purdue University in 1968 after which PhD work commenced at the University of Virginia. Tom's specialisation was in experimental nuclear physics and his thesis explored excited states of the NA21 nucleus. He now works part-time as a consultant for NASA within the Aries I program (follow-on to the Shuttle) assessing and solving problems of risk and vulnerability to insure mission and crew survivability and success.

#10: unless the simulation is stochastic. Then the results aren't predetermined. ;-)

This link takes you to the slides that Tom Campbell used in his London talk earlier this month:

What would we be simulating?
18Amtep
Galaxy formation.
The problem is, every time they run it, life emerges somewhere and in a couple of billion years it starts rearranging the stars to suit itself.
It's really annoying.

I'm not sure whether calling other posters insane is within the TOS, but I think you might have gotten away with it here by using the conditional tense.

Well. We let a few slip through here and there... Sorry about that.
But physics really is no qualification for metaphysics. Of course there is no qualification for that in any case. It's just whatever sh%^$! you want to make up.

Ok, I'll be nice. How about this: The unconscious quantum
