Has anyone read the Undead series by Maryjanice Davidson? She is absolutely hilarious, and there are some steamy parts but not super nasty lol. She has a way of writing books that make you laugh out loud and wonder if thats REALLY what being a vampire is like..and if it is where do I sign up? LOL ..After reading all 7 of the undead series and waiting on number 8 I decided to read her other works on werewolves and mermaids..

And i have to say I never thought id like books on Mermaids but the author is just a great writer. I have read her books in one sitting.

She even has a 3 book series on a royal family that rules over alaska (if the US was too busy with the civil war to buy alaska, so it turned into its on country) LOTS OF LAUGHS! I know a lil off the vampire topic but i felt like raving about it for a bit!

After Laurell Hamilton, Maryjanice Davidson has to be my favorite author!

I have Book 8 waiting for me at the library. I LOVED the first book in the series. Hysterically funny! Some of the middle ones were just OK, but I think she's gotten more serious in the more recent ones and the books once again have a plot.

Now it's my turn to rave about my new favorite author, Keri Arthur. If you like Laurell K. Hamilton, you need to try Keri Arthur's Riley Jenson, Guardian series.

MjD makes me laugh hard too, it's very light and yet quite dark in places (that's my Alicia Silverstone impresstion btw)

Well, I just finished Undead and Unwelcome.

I'll include a link to my review, but basically it's a novella and not a real novel. Borrow it from the library - don't waste $24.95.

I like the series, enjoy the humor, and like that there isn't much romance.

I don't think you can blame the author about the books not being worth the money. The publishers have taken to splitting a book into 2. They do it because people were resisting the price increases. It really sucks, and hers are light enough that they don't do well that way.

I always wait for them to go into paper.

Yeah, I know the publishers deserve a lot of the blame, that's why I still gave it 3 1/2 stars even though it was short. I read it in like 3 hours.

I guess if you just read my first post and not my review, you'd think I didn't like it. There were parts that could have been stronger and I would have liked MORE of it, but it's worth reading, just not worth $24.95. H*ll, if you're earning minimum wage you'd be paying more than you earn an hour for the time it takes to read it.

Oh and I read so much and so often I have used the library more than anything..cause i cannot afford to buy up all these books..but if there is a series that i am the 34th person in line waiting on hold i will buy the book..especially if i KNOW the series is good.

This is why I love eBay and Bookmooch. It just takes a bit of time to get it at a reasonable cost.
