Reality Sandwich

I've been reading the book Toward 2012, which is a collection of pieces from the website realitysandwich.com. I bought the book originally because I thought it was about 2012 and I've been on a Mayan prophecy kick lately. After buying the book I took a look at the website and have been reading and enjoying articles on it almost every day. I'm finding this rather odd, because I'm finding significant chunks of the book to be uninteresting, even downright boring. Don't get me wrong, the book has its interesting chapters. I found the piece on Urban Homesteading for example to be of particular interest.
