I just read the LT Local Wiki list that Tim and Chris have of planned features and improvements and I didn't notice anything about an improvement which I think would be of added value for Venue pages.

Off and on for several months and until recently I was on a self-imposed challenge to attempt to ensure that every public library in Illinois had a Venue page. More importantly, whether the Venue alreay existed or had to be created that it had the most complete or fleshed out information I could find about it online (with the obvious exception of Claimed venues which Helpers can exert no direct or Wiki control over! Arrrgh!). It was brutal at times---Illinois about 800 public libraries. Good grief! Between creating, editing, re-editing, re-editing for lib-web-cats numbers, etc. I can now safely say that I have messed around in these 800 or so Venue pages too many multiple times to count! The upshot has been the obvious which is more complete information for my geographic area but another thing is that I have noticed that today's public libraries increasingly offer any combination of online services/amenities and think some benefit could be found in making Venue pages have more fields/options. Specifically, many libraries have blogs, MySpace pages, Facebook pages, PodCasts, YouTube channels, Flickr photostreams, Photobucket albums and the like. I thought it was important for these library Venue pages to reflect this and so made-do by using the "Description" section/field to list them.

For example: http://www.librarything.com/venue/40597/Cary-Area-Public-Library

Tim/Chris, I am confident that one of you will happen upon this post at some point and I really think the option for populating fields for these types things should be standard in the Venue creation or editing processes at some point in the future.
