The idea started as I try and mention LT to anyone that may be interested in the site, this has grown into an addictive habit of checking Technorati and Google Blog Search to find out what people are saying/thinking/doing with LT. Occasionally I've found blog posts where the writer has been confused or misled about LibraryThing, in which case where possible, I give advice or point them at posts/groups here on the site.
Please don't let me be the only one addicted to these antics, you may help yourself to the cookies and refreshments supplied in our Community Outreach staff lounge :-)
My interest is to promote a useful service for Swedish web users, so my banners are in Swedish and link to the Swedish version of the site. Feel free to reuse or modify my work. You should probably let Tim know what you're doing.
This one says "now in Swedish" (in red), http://susning.nu/img/librarything-sv.gif
This one says "Are your friends only reading books that you have already read? Time to find some new friends...", http://susning.nu/img/librarything-nya.gif
I like the new "Zeitgeist per language" page. It tells me Swedish is currently the 9th largest language here. Odd enough, Swedish is also the 9th largest language on Wikipedia. And German is the 2nd largest in both places.
The "Zeitgeist per language" page now also tells me who the most recent users are on the Swedish website. I look at which books they have cataloged, and invite them to appropriate groups, hoping that this greeting will make them feel welcome.
