I'm still confused about where the whole discipline (I use the term loosely) of gender studies is going to go. It doesn't seem to fit here, but it's got more in common with sexuality, than anything else that's made it to the top level

Depending on the book, gender studies is likely to have more to do with Sociology than sexuality. At least the "women's studies" books on my bookshelf do; and I'd be more likely to look for gender studies there than under "family & relationships" (although, really, I wouldn't argue that they belong in either). Maybe it's just an area that's doomed to be split up.

Well Gender Trouble includes psychology, literary criticism, sociology and performing arts. That's a little hard to split up.

The gender studies question has moved to the Things that Don't Fit topic, here http://www.librarything.com/topic/58701
