Heaven-Ali, the only one I have read from that list is Someone at a Distance and I can safely say that you won't be disappointed!
I'm going to read Lady Rose and Mrs Memmary soon.

I've not read any of those yet, but am looking forward to Miss Buncle's Book when I place a springtime order. ;)

OOh hold on and don't read Miss Buncle yet - remember I got it for my birthday so can you save it for an April read?? Pretty please??

(I know I could just phone you up and tell you that or could have told you when we had tea together on Thursday, but, you know... )

Lol ok - I knew that you'd want to read Miss Buncle with me - : ) so then you need to vote for me to read one of the others in the meantime : )

Why April?

Lady Rose.

And April... well, I'm on December books at the moment, and there are lots of those as I got an Amazon order just before Christmas and am reading a big history book and Jen's Forsyte Saga book, so they will take a while, then there are the Christmas books and any bookrings that come in... so I reckon I'll get to birthday books by about April...

Lady Rose and Mrs. Memmary is bittersweet and lovely. It is like an old-fashioned lace.

My turn! I have these three which all came at Christmas, so I can't choose on order of acquisition!

A House in the Country
The New House
The Shuttle

So... which first?

Again, I've only read one from this selection too and that was The Shuttle; it was a delightful read, very much a Victorian novel.

Heavenly-Ali, I read Lady Rose and Mrs Memmary and agree with aluvalibri's assessment; it is quietly heartbreaking.

I greatly enjoyed The Shuttle, Lyzzy, and so I heartily recommend it.

Ooh LyzzyBee, I've not got any of those! But I did just start Cheerful Weather for the Wedding this evening.

I have read The Shuttle and A house in the country Liz, they are both great for different reasons.

The shuttle : )

I'm 2/3 of the way through The Shuttle. I was a little unsure of it at first - quite dense language and a bit melodramatic - but really enjoying the descriptions of the village and the gardens.

Thanks everyone for your recommendations!! I think I'll read A house in the country next...

Paola, that's a perfect description of Lady Rose. It's one of my favourite Persephones, and had me literally weeping as I read it ... but in a good way.
