We're doing another cataloging flash mob, this time for the Rhode Island Audubon Society's collection. Read more here:

Email me if you're interested in going. There will be computers to use, so having a laptop isn't a prerequisite.

Oh, I would love to go, but I can't commit just yet. It looks to be about a 90-100 minute drive from me. Not bad. This might be a silly question, but if I can come, should I bring my own laptop and bar code scanner? Or are most of these books to old for scannable ISBN codes?

If you have a laptop or scanner, you can definitely bring them. If you don't, that's OK too. They have some computers there.
Also, not everyone needs to be entering books, especially with sections that have a lot of barcoded books. Last time, we had runners who brought books to the cataloger (since it's so fast to catalog), then ran another pile to them. People were paired up so books stayed in order, and went back to the right shelf.
They said they have quite a few ISBN'd books, but lots that are without - a good challenge.
