Since someone mentioned a new thread, I thought I'd start one. Here are some pics I thought I'd share since it is spring down here. :D

Gorgeous flowers, what are they? And where is "down here?"

Thanks for starting a new thread. And just a reminder, when posting photos, try to keep the width at 600 or less. You can add - width="600" to the code if you need to reduce a large photo. If anyone needs help with this, let me know; I'm a geek ;o)

No fair that you have spring already. It's 34 degrees (F) in the DC area. :(

What beautiful and vibrant colors your flowers have! Must be nice...

*sigh*

>2 teelgee: The first is Ranunculus, the second is Verbana, and the third is an African Daisy.

I'm in Tucson, AZ. We are in the 60s and 70s. The beautiful weather we have now makes up for our 110 degree summers. :D

Oh yeah, you can have that heat! I'll take our winter bloomers (daphne, witch hazel, crocus, camellia) any day.

Here in Western Washington the daffodils are beginning to poke through the ground. Buds are on all the trees. My daphne looks ready to pop and the primroses are putting on an early show. Planting season is just around the corner!

Our daphne is right on the verge in Portland too.

>6 klaidlaw: Daffodil spikes and buds on the trees? I'm in Minneapolis - we woke up to -3F this morning! We won't see buds until April. :-( Oh well, I'll live vicariously through you!

Here in Scotland the 'Fair Maids of February' (galanthus) are just about peaking after a cold spell earlier in the year:

My yard is covered with snow. Perhaps there are some flowers underneath... :(

Not quite in our garden... out of our garden! This is the first black krim and it tasted fantastic.

Great to see all the spring photos.

I see it, but I don't know what it is! What is a krim? How does it taste, and what do you do with it? LOL!

It looks delicious! (SqueakyChu, it's a tomato).

Well, it doesn't look like the tomatoes in my garden! :)

My first strawberry is ripe!

Wow, strawberries! Fantastic. I guess there are advantages to living in such a warm climate!

Here's a little montage of what's blooming 'round here in Portland now:

I saw three crocuses in bloom today in my garden. They looked a bit under the weather - so ... no pictures! :D

How did you create the montage?

So far I have only hellebores blooming. That would be just south of Seattle, in the Pacific Northwest. I did notice that the willows are starting to put forth 'pussies'.

Karenelissa, that strawberry looks delicious! I'm laughing - it's 60 f here today, and it's meant to be summer.

squeaky don't be offended but I giggled at your post too and am standing here eating some tomato. the black krims taste like tomatoes used to taste - lots of flavour....ummm...really tomato-y.

Not a plant per se, but this was something I captured in the garden the other day after a rainstorm followed by bright sun. It was like a fairy land.

Today, a grey drippy Easter Monday in the Southern
Appalachians, what is most beautiful in my garden is the lilac bush, the dark purple tulips, and the trillium.

Memorial Day weekend and my petunias are beautiful!

June 16th and my square foot gardens are flourishing. Several tomatoes on my heirloom plant and another handful on my hybrid, things are looking good with my peppers as well.

Had a brief scare when a fierce thunderstorm rained dime sized hail down... was worried I would lose some plants but they made it through alright.

Im sooo ready for a sun ripened tomato.. the ones in the supermarket just don't cut it!

I have tigridias blooming! They are a beautiful soft yellow colour, with red spots.

My tomatoes are finally starting to colour up, as well.

These stargazer lilies looked like this last week, but took a beating in the heat. Now they look pretty wilted!

Ago 3, 2009, 8:42 pm

Ah, Stargazer! A beautiful lily, and with a lovely scent as well. I just planted my Stargazer bulbs this year, and I am looking forward to seeing them grow stronger next year.

This is the first success I've ever had with an eggplant plant. The flower was so pretty, but now it's already a little eggplant.

The white phlox is blooming. In the twilight, the big flower heads glow brighter than the moon.
