I don't read much of any fiction (although I read 73 non-fiction books in 2006), so the odds are low, given that list. I used to, say 25 or 30 years ago, read quite a lot of SciFi, so a few titles (I'm pretty sure of 3) are in the dark recesses of my library.

No offense meant, bluesalamanders, but I think you're in a bit of a rut, "genre-wise"! And no non-fiction?
4bluesalamanders
I'm not offended. However, there is actually one: "Just a Geek" by Wil Wheaton, totally non-fiction. :)
I don't deny being in a rut. It's worse than it looks, too - I not only read the same types of books, I tend to read the same books, over and over again. Some of my books fall apart, I read them so much. I'm a comfort-reader, through and through.
I'm working on it, though, because I do think I need to expand the scope of my read some (though probably not as far as you do :). This was my first year doing 50bookchallenge, and aside from my main challenge of 100 books during the year (I read 107 this year, with repeats), I did an included challenge of 30 new-to-me books, which I also exceeded. I realize that's not going out and reading a stack of non-fiction - I don't enjoy most non-fiction; like I said, I'm a comfort-reader, and the non-fiction books I do own tend to be reference, which I use as such - but it is a big step for me.

Good for you, blue. I also read strictly for enjoyment and comfort. Now, I do read non-fiction, but only for things that really interest me - usually having to do with animals or human nature.
I'm trying to stretch my reading boundaries as well, mostly by trying out some new genres and classics. But I would say that 75% of my reading is in my favorite genres - fantasy and romance.

Thanks, morphidae, you too.
Doing 50bookchallenge seems to have helped me; not only am I tallying the books I've read during the year, but it's helped me realize how often I reread the same books, and just how seldom I stray outside the realms of fantasy and science fiction. I knew, sort of, before, but while I did know my reading list wasn't expanding as fast as I could read read them, I didn't exactly realize that I could, for instance, reread the same trilogy three times in the course of a year.
Not that I think there's anything wrong with that, actually. Different people read for different reasons, and those books have satisfied a need. But I've been doing it (rereading so much) for quite a while and it's time for a bit of a change.

Well, here's my list for the year. I think you'll find it's nothing if not eclectic!

I stole the idea from someone else, so go right ahead. But post your link, I like to take these polls as well as post them :)

#10: I know there's poll-making software out there, I just put it on my livejournal because its easier.

I find it funny that of some of these polls, I see books listed in my TBR pile, but I haven't gotten to. Like I saw Sunshine by Robin McKinley and Heroics for beginners by John Moore which I have to be read, just haven't gotten to as of yet.

Mine's here.
I'm sorry I didn't see bluesalamander's explanation about how to make it all one question before I posted the poll!

So many books, so little time...
I've only started a book journal this year, and I can't remember all titles of the books I read in 2006.
What strikes me about these polls is the consistency of "themes" or authors in each reader's list. Interesting.

I haven't done polls, but I've just posted here a couple of lists of library books I've read fairly recently: do you I think I have consistencies? I think I'm fairly eclectic, possibly even librivorous :)
