Ok first book

Tales of Beedle the Bard- J.K. Rowling

I'm a big fan of Fairytales I have very fond memories of The Princess and the Frog and Little Red Riding Hood growing up, so this was perfect for me. Fairytales for Wizards another way JK has fleshed out her Harry Potter world and the links with the 5th story The Tale of Three Brothers linking with Harry Potter 7 just made me smile. The fact that JK added Dumbledore's notes was inspierd and they made me giggle and smile and gave me a warm fuzzy feeling!

This is a must read for all Harry Potter and Fairytale fans alike! two thums up!

I like this alot this is defently tales for the adults, made me Laugh and smile. THis is a must read if you like working class humur defently a book for the doll line!

Third Year at Malory Towers by Enid Blyton

The Malory Towers books were the only Enid Blyton books that I did not read when I was younger so when I saw the boxset for £5 I thought why not! The First and Second I read before the new year and I enjoyed them nice and easy to read help me forget about very long days at work, this one was the same nice and simple just made me smile.

Worth reading if you refuse to grow up!

OK booK 4

A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare.

This was a re-read but it's been awile since I read it so thought I would.

A comedy of errors, two Young couples lost in a wood, lost amoung the fairies and the fairies play tricks on them.

This is by far (in my opinion) The Bard's Funniest play and is a good point to start if you are new to Shakespeare.

Ok I have had a thing for fairy stories so far this year I promise to read some proper books now!

Next Up: A Clockwork Orange

Ok still reading A Clockwork Orange keep having to put it down... and got a little side tracked by pay day and a trip to the book shop....

Book 5

Road to the Civil War by Brian Michael Bendis.

Graphic novel: part of the Marvel Civil War avent, the govement in America put in a bill for all super hereos to list they're true Identitys and as you can imagan alot of the hereos have a problem with this.

I've liked comics for years and this was fun, good guys fighting each other after the avents of House of M that turnned the marvel world upside down the civil war is doing the same friends becoming Enimes.

**** very good, for all comic book fans!

Book 6

Civil War by Mark Milar

Same as number 5!

I read A clockwork orange at English course at high school. Still don't get why, because for a non-native English speaker of 16 years old, it's quite a task. But I really enjoyed once I got into the language. And seeing the movie also helped. Maybe I should read it again, the language will be less of a problem now.

Book 8

Candyfloss by Jacqueline Wilson

nice easy read after the last, as always in Wilson's it's a story about a child and her family! This time her name is Floss, she lives in her broken family: Her Mum remarred to Steve (a rich bisseness man) and Half Brother Tiger she spends week days with, then at weekends at her Dad's cafe. The book starts with Floss's Mum anoucing that they would be moving to Australia for 6 months, Floss has to decied if she wants to go with her Mum or Stay with her Dad!

Very nice story and as alway you know that with Wilson your in safe hands, a completly enjoyble read!

been very busy this month lots of work and my writers blook vanished so I have been writing my stories. I've read one new book and a couple of re-reads!

9.Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone by J.K Rowling

a re-read, the first in the set of books makes me smile alway makes laugh and I still gasp at all the apropate ponts. Worth reading just to find out the name of the three-headded dog!

I have much praise for the books and the first is a very good start and its easy to see why it gripped its younger readers!

****

10.Hunting Unicorns by Bella Pollen

a wonderful romantic story told from the perspective of two people! Maggie and Daniel! The Story starts with Daniel death and he goes on to talk about the people he left behind, mostly His younger Brother Rory and a new news reporter in his life named Maggie.

This is not your typical romance story in an old fashioned sence it is a moden love story of two people both smart, witty and flawed!

I recomed this for you romantics out there!

11Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

12Just in Case by Meg Rosoff

a wonderful book about a boys decovery of himself, first love, self doubt and sibling love.

I read Rosoff's debut How I live Now for readers group last year and it was my best read of the year (next to Deathly Hollows) so when it was sugested that we read her second book I was very happy to oblige. Not as good as her first book but most curtainly worth the read!

13. Almost Moon by Alice Sebold

Yet another book for readers group and I had high hopes for this book what with Sebolds The Lovely Bones being one of my best reads of all time! I'm a little disaponted, though the premise of the story was encapsulating and integing the story bored me and left me with no emotion towards the charecters.

not my best read this year it is still well writen and for that not a comple flop!

***

14. Astonishing X-Men Vol. 3: Torn by Joss Whedon

Another Graphic Novel, writen by Buffy's creator so is witty, charming and very hard hittling, the stroy contiues from the first two volumes, with the x-men having isues with dead sudent, aliens and a trator in the group!

I enjoyed this like I do with most of Whedon's work, I Laughed and cryed on cue almost perfect!

17. Operation Red Jericho by Joshua Mowll

Very good read, very often with adventure books they are only aimed at boy so the male lead is well fleshed out and female lead an after thought; alway screaming or needing to be rescued: not in this book.

Doug and Becca MacKenzie are both very well rounded characters, smart, witty and alway up to mischif, on board they're uncals ship they get caught in an swashbuckling adventure.

Well writen, the pitures and diagrams and Appendices give the book more deepth. The story twisted and turned made you laugh, yell and my case scream.

must be read!

38.TV Cream Toys by Steve Berry

First Non-Fiction of the year, made me smile and laugh and remember the good old days, before these years of work, wedding reggrsties and far to many late nights. The book took me right back to my childhood, sunday mornings sat in front of the TV, evenings before eastenders playing board games with the family(connect 4, battle Ships or more offen then not MouseTrap) argumens with siblings and friends about who had the better toys, granted this still happens; the family games (Scrabble, Scrabble, Cludo and more Scrabble) and the toy but its more who has the best Phone, car or Job.

This book was a delight, funny, heart warming, and I can remember most of the toys in the book, quite remarkable considring I was born it the later of the cream years (Cream Years 1960-1990) if you wish to recindle childhood memorys read this book!

#95: Re book 57 - I love it when I have the pleasant surprise of liking a book that I would not think I would have liked, don't you? That happened to me last year with World War Z, a book I would never have picked up on my own without the encouragement of the group here on LT and I ended up loving it. You just never know.

argh, those blasted Fables books: I've been trying to get them on Bookmooch for ages. In my experience so far though, it's almost impossible to get any graphic novels without paying the full price. They don't even have them in used bookshops. People seem to be more attached to them than books and never give them away or something. I don't know what it is.
