Same here-- I especially like to save pieces where there's just a lot of background to fill in ---sometimes I find I need to pause the audio if I get to a particularly intricate area of counting. I really like being able to cross-stitch and 'read' at the same time. I can also keep an eye on whatever sports event is on the TV (there always seems to be something) too.

I audio while cross-stitching, crocheting, cooking, cleaning, showering, driving, eating, video gaming, etc. I press pause for sleeping. Sometimes.

I audio while cross-stitching, crocheting, knitting and sleeping...well, going to sleep anyways ;-)
I love my audio!

I haven't seen "audio" used as a verb before! I listen to audio books when I am knitting, crocheting, making jewelry, doing chores, and playing a computer game called bubble shooter.
I would like to know how fleela manages to listen while showering, since that is one place I haven't yet taken my audio books.

I drag my iPod speaker dock into the bathroom and set it up on the counter top, then turn the volume WAY up!

I too like to "read" while I cross-stitch or play computer games or like TUTU watch a sports event on TV. Announcers are worthless! Now thaqt I have a laptop I've even gotten into cooking while I read.

Yesterday I listened to Wuthering Heights while cross-stitching.

And? What did you think? Have you read the book? I think I remember you saying elsewhere that you hadn't, so did you like it? Did you find Heathcliff a sympathetic character or a total monster? Was the reader good?

Well, I haven't finished it yet. I've not read the book. I hate Heathcliff and Catherine. The people are just nasty in this book. I'll finish it because I'm a completist, but uck.
The reader is okay. I prefer male voices to female voices and find her pitch a bit too high for my tastes but she does the various voices well.

I read it as a teen and I still can't get the uck out of my head.

LOL! I think I like WH exactly because Heathcliff and Catherine are so atypical. He so brooding and nasty, but so desperately in love with Catherine and Catherine so selfish and needy, and using Heathcliff like a plaything - but guilty in the end, else she wouldn't haunt him. Yeah, I can see why you wouldn't like it. *chuckle*

After reading WH comments I realized that both H and C are totally bad, why do I love them so much? I guess I have always thought that their love could redeem them but because of their other issues they would never be able to stay together. Can you imagine them as a married couple. C (whining) why can't you just take out the trash when I ask? H (enraged) why are you always trying to control me? and so on and so on . . .

I listen in the bathtub, speakers on the counter far away!
Audio'ing (our new verb it seems!) is terrific when ironing or cooking.

What a great word: to audio!
I audio while comuting, jogging, walking, while doing chores and if I can't sleep at night and in the summer, just sitting in a nice chair or laying in the sun...

Hello all, I just joined this group. I've been an audiophile for decades. Lately I've been weening myself from the television. Lost too many days that turned into weeks sitting on the couch watching things I'm not interested in & not getting anything done. TV is just too easy.
I'm currently immersed in the Victorian world of Thomas & Charlotte Pitt by Ann Perry. Liking it alot. Plus there are approximately 40 of 'em.

I audio when knitting, cross-stitching, quilt, and often when driving! Love being able to listen to a book and do something else at the same time. I'm presently quilting and listening to Diana Gabaldon's Dragonfly in Amber, read by Davina Porter. I just finished listening to Outlander.

I do needlepoint while listening to audios, in addition to commuting, cooking, folding laundry and cooking!

Hello people, I too listen to audiobooks (or BBC radio 4) when knitting, baking, doing chorest etc. My audiobooks are most indispensible though when I am at the gym which is suicide-inducingly boring if I don't have something to take my mind off it! I can never quite trust someone who says they 'enjoy' going to the gym, bit too close to sadism for my liking.
