Would anyone be interested in discussing The Talking Tree or its author Gray?

I read 'Ladder of Lights" back in the mid 70's and am currently reading-and trying to make sense of " The
talking Tree"

Just thought I'd let you know touchstones don't work in topic titles. However, I'm curious: What are the Talking Tree and Ladder of Lights about?

Hi-

Touchstones don't work here?!?!?!?!?! What a gyp...!!!

The Ladder of Lights and The Talking Tree are about the qabalistic Tree of Life of western esotericism. The author has a unique (vs. eg. Golden Dawn), but none the less very valid system.

They work in messages, but not in thread titles. Not a gyp, just a limitation of the system.

Actually Gray's system differs from the Golden dawn in several ways...

The Dawn system relates emenation going down the lightning flash. From nothing into something, kether to malkuth. This is essentially the structure of the tarot on the tree in the 'standard' hermetic placement.

Of course the chief reason for the card placements is simply numerical values. Card 0 goes on path 11, Card 1 goes on path 12, thus card 3 goes on path 14, card 18 goes on path 29 etc.

While Gray places the cards via meaning and the path going up the tree....

ISrael Regardie of course has related at least once that the traditional system is actually pretty much a "blind", the idea being aspirants use it, realise its wrong... and get given another system.. Gray's...

In the end though, it matters what you want, the GDawn system works best for those that "want stuff"

Grays is for those that seek a "journey of return"

Ultimatly though, we must provide our OWN placement. Gray's, crowley's, Papus et al are all wrong... as we must make the tree live and grow for ourselves.
