Happy Half Way Day!
If you are keeping pace, we see 25K words by the end of the day. IF not, we have many experienced people here to throw you a rope to drag you along kicking and screaming. :>
(Don't look at my word count on the site. My goal is higher than 50K so my half way is higher than the standard 25K. :>)
On the Word Count Scoreboard, we have Seattle leading with 10,932,630 words for their region, with Maryland as a close second at 10, 873,705. Bringing up the rear is Chanute Kansas with 400 words.
Write away, ask for help, and know we are offering chocolate chip cookies (Made with and without nuts), Hot cocoa, and of course lots of cheers as you cross the 50K barrier. IF this isn't incentive, we also have mind calming organic teas and warm blankets to curl up under and sleep. :>
Week 3 begins with us saying: We are on the down hill slope! Let's WRITE!

Woot! 25,146!
I didn't think I would make it today but I had a very successful evening. Must have been all the Dark Chocolate and my magic fingerless gloves. I don't write without them anymore.
Today I was finally able to kill off my thug. I wrote him in as a throw-away one-scene character and, being the brutal Nazi that I wrote him to be, he dominated the next four scenes. He didn't die easily. It was SO thrilling to write!

I was doing so well the past few days, making my 2400/day quota and then today...plutz. Maybe I've done 100 words.
I'm just tapped out. I've tried reading for inspiration...listening to music...drinking SoJu but nothing is helping.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'm just under 20,000 words as of last night. It's not where it needs to be but it is double my final word count from last year so I won't complain.
Victoria, I type with fingerless gloves too. Mom knit them for me last year but I never found a reason to wear them. (who wears gloves in Calif?) She'll be happy to know they have found a good use.
*donning her cheerleading pompoms* Go Nanos! You can do it. You've made it past the hardest week now it's easy-peasy from here. Go ahead. Write something right now.

For those of you who want to see what the NaNo validator will say about your novel numbers, you can now paste the novel into the validator on the Edit Novel Info page.
Be warned, it varies what the validator will find.
I've lost 448 words from the validator, but others have gained 300 words.

I got way behind in week 2, so my new goal for myself is 20K, and I feel like I can do that.
The validator gave me seven extra words.

5:
I lost two words! Glad my count is so close. I would have been crushed to lose nearly 500.
