Give this a try. Tag your unique books with ultb.
Why? Then you can use the ultb tag page. From there you can see what other people have tagged ultb. You can see the book most commonly tagged ultb, that should be interesting/funny.
Think it will be a pain to tag multiple books ultb! Ha! try power edit! Sort your library by clicking the the Shared column twice. This puts it in order from unique books to most shared books. Note which book is your first shared books. Then click on "power edit". In power edit mode you have an option to "add a tag". Type in ultb. Then in the right hand column is a check box. Check each of your ultb books. Then click the "add to selected book" button. Then go check out the ultb tag page. A really cool way to see peoples unique books and easy way to track them. Plus learn to use really cool Library thing tools. Give it a try.

Hmmm, Looks like it may take some time to update the page. The statistic look off but the "recently tagged" shows your books. Is that what you see?
6misericordia
That works really sweet. Well at least until someone else uses the tag for a completely different purpose. Did you guys use or know of the power edit before this?
7TallyDi
If I go to my own library and search tags for ultb, I find the books I marked. But if I search all of LT, I only see reading_fox's books.
8misericordia
Do you see the users KCGordon and misericordia's books?
I don't see any difference in how you tagged your books. Maybe it just take time to update the page.

#8 --I see:
Tag info: ultb
Tag used 112 times by 3 users.RSS
Most often tagged ultb
None.
Using the tag ultb
KCGordon (62), reading_fox (41), misericordia (9)
And then I see the list of reading_fox's books. Oh. I just checked and now the list starts with 3 items from ryn_books, but still only KCGordon, reading_fox, and misericordia show up as taggers.

10> I just check at 8:08 MST and it looks like you are in there now. It must take a while for different user to be updated.
12TallyDi
Yes!
But now I have to show my ignorance. I see "recently added" books. How do I look at the entire list?

13misericordia
Ahhhh I don't think that is ignorance. I don't think there is a way to see a complete list of all the books tagged with ultb or any tag for that matter. You can look at each persons public library and their list in turn, but not at once. I am not positive at this point. Maybe someone else knows.

12> I posted a message on Site Talk. Let see if they come up with anything.
15reading_fox
Normally there's a see all link under "most often" but by the nature of ultb there are no most often books, hence no links.

OK someone called PheonixTerran on the site talk group figured out an answer.
So go to the ULTB group page. On the left side in the second box from the top is a "Search Group Members' Libraries" box. Enter the tag ultb in the box and dropdown to the tags field. Hit search. Volia! Everyone in the group who has tagged with ultb and is a member of the group shows up in the list. Pretty cool, useful, I don't know but fun. If you sort by reverse date order your book shows up at the top for date "date?". Enjoy.

My list is now tagged and can be viewed in my library here. Some of the items are borderline, but I would call them books. This little exercise also led me to 4 or 5 that needed combining, which is always good.

10> that was odd! I tagged my magazines for about 2mins then decided to take them off and just stay with the book.
So even though the caching meant it took a while for my entry to show up - when it did it had the ghosts with it ...

Nifty idea you have here - I went through and tagged all of my books that I have the only copy of "unique" then I looked at all the "unique"(59) books and tagged them either "ultb"(34) or "ultb-NQ"(25) (for ones I didn't think qualified - church cookbooks, correspondence course lessons, self/novelty publishers, booklets/pamphlets). Some I wasn't sure about so I just did the best I could.
A very interesting read that no one else seems to have:
Married Woman v. Husbands Names by Una Stannard - which is the only one for which I have written a review.
One I am stuck on the 'combining' fence about is:
Genes III by Benjamin Lewin - I would consider this just an 'edition' but the rest of them have been sorted out so I left it alone.
Not done cataloging yet so I am sure I will find more.
(PS. I think all of the covers on these are ones I loaded myself - now I just have to figure out the scoring system).

Bah! ultb-NQ ! If you want but I would think "Popular Mechanics Do-It-Yourself Encyclopedia - Complete Set in 16 Volumes, 1968 Edition" and any cookbook would be ultb. I mean who is really going to argue with you over it. Not me.
Good for you loading covers images. I just have a digital camera and was less than pleased with the imagine I got. Do you use camera of scanner?

Ahhh! Maybe I will reconsider the -NQ tag on some of them - my exclusion of the Popular Mechanics Volumes was that it is just a particular edition (the 1968 one) and others own whole or partials of other editions. My rationale on the church cookbooks was that they were a limited run for a church fundraiser and therefore would be novelty or vanity publishers.
In Re: the cover images - I use the el cheapo (EasyShare CX6200) digital camera that came free with my computer at the lowest quality setting but WITHOUT a flash - then I use the "Kodak Easyshare" software that came free with the camera to crop and "enhance" (brightens) if needed. If I don't like the image I may shoot it again in different lighting (and try to hold my hand steadier). But maybe I am just not very picky - here is a link to my latest ultb:

I did it -- tagged 468 unique books.
I had to do it twice, because I did not realize that when I clicked to page 2 it would automatically erase all the checked boxes on page 1. And there were 5 pages with 100 books apiece (out of which I did my best to exclude books that I no longer have physically present in my house, except the ones that my next-door neighbour has borrowed, because she is going to give them back or I am going to go and get them; and books which I believe are not unique, but are just very hard to combine). :P
Couldn't have done it without power edit though.
Oh yes, these nearly all have images and all but a very few I took myself. Occasionally an Amazon image is available for a unique book -- always surprising, but welcome.

17 - I have a problem - doing that produces a nice list of ultb books but KCGordon seems to own several of mine - s/he is in the 'user' column. Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug??
26misericordia
>25 abbottthomas: do you have an example book title.

Yes I see it now. This has to be yours

Looks like a problem to me.
