Another death in the literary world: David Foster Wallace (1962-2008), author of Infinite Jest.

I've read his essays over the years. My favorite was the one about bathroom sounds. I've meant to read IJ, but I never have, in part due to the certain displacement of other reads that would result. How could I read 100 books a year if I took on that behemoth! Now, I can't read it because I'll look like I'm reading it because he died and I am one of a million others suddenly sending his books to the top of the Amazon lists. Its like naming your child the most popular name. I'm sure Mr. Wallace would identify.

I do believe he would identify.

I just feel bad that I spelled Infinite incorrectly in the subject line...
