Just saw your post on the WTM forums! Our current read aloud is The Arctic Trail by Pierre Berton. We read a little bit about arctic explorers and can't wait to get into this book!

Hi I stumbled over this group and Library Thing via WTM . . . thanks for the heads up! This seems like a great tool to find Living Books.

Hi, I'm a transplanted American whose interest in Canadian history was piqued when I moved to Canada at the age of 13 and discovered that, contrary to my junior high school history classes in Wisconsin, Canadians considered that Canada had won the War of 1812.

Since then I have grown up, had kids, and homeschooled for 13 years, using a lot of books and historical fiction to teach Canadian history. I used to do little presentations, mini-seminars if you will, for our county homeschooling group on the topic.

My copy of Heritage of Canada: Our Storied Past and Where to Find It has endpapers entirely covered in my smallest writing with children's literature recommended for each chapter in Canadian history. Just name a topic. ;)
