Does anyone recall Wolfe's getting sunburned? I don't. He did have some alarming--to him--contacts with the natural world (aside from his domesticated orchids), but I don't recall a sun burn, per se.

Neither do I remember such an occurrence. What prompts the question?

I was thinking of how Stout occasionally mined the comic vein running through Wolfe's apparent abhorrence of going outside, and of getting any kind of exercise. (That Wolfe played darts once and considering it exercise is most amusing.) I was hoping that Stout had done something with a sunburn or insect bites--I'd love to hear Archie's report on Wolfe's reaction.

I remember in Death of a Dude his feet got swollen and he soaked them in the creek, there might be something about the sun in that one, but I can't think of it specifically.

Yes, I was remembering how funny Death of a Dude was.
