Seems to have embraced Fantasy and paranormal romance quite firmly recently with their Luna imprint and the Silhouette Eclipse range. Some paranormal stuff has also appeared in their Silhouette Bombshell range as well.

Is this a good or a bad thing?

Some of the Luna books are pretty good.

This isn't a totally new thing. Some years ago Silhouette had a line called Shadows which had books dealing with various aspects of the supernatural.

I've actually enjoyed a number of the Luna books, such as Poison Study and The Fairy Godmother. I can't say that I've read any of the paranormal romance offerings from Harlequin, but I'm not as interested in the paranormal stuff so it makes sense.

I don't know that it could be classified as either a good or bad thing, really. I think it's just a thing, like a lot of other publishing ventures. Some of the offerings will be excellent, some will be horrid, and the bulk of them will be fairly average. Standard bell curve.

I haven't read any of their new lines but I was obsessed with collecting the Sillhouette Shadows series when they were coming out. I still have many of the titles. A couple have made their way into my catalog here but not all of them yet.

If you liked Poison Study, read the sequel Magic Study.

Both "Study" novels by Maria Snyder sound really good! Thanks for the tip!

I listened to Poison Study and thought it was okay.I might have thought it was better had I read it. I've noticed sometimes the person reading the book really effects whether I like it or not. Was Magic Study better? I may try reading it.

I've mostly been disappointed with the Luna books, but the ones I've liked, I've really, really liked. For the most part though, I've read better romantic SFF from other publishers.
