>8 varielle: The news and obituaries here refer to Lynn Seymour as a ballet dancer (or ballerina) - she became a principal within the Royal Ballet and also appeared on film. She "retired" as a dancer in 1981 but continued as a choreographer/director - and I assume that dancers then took up teaching roles.

>10 varielle: Oe was also the 1994 Nobel laureate for literature. The first thing I read of his was his Nip the buds, shoot the kids which is pretty good. To me he's one of the better Nobel laureates. A recurring motif also in much of his work is his son Hikari who was born disabled, autistic and epileptic. Hikari is interesting too in that with all those issues he became a very successful composer. A lot of that became possible because of the love and support of his Mom and Dad.
