I need help looking for a novel that is no longer on my kindle. I have only read the sample.
It starts with a young woman who is a caretaker being let go from her current job. The gentleman is being moved to a home. Discouraged she leaves the home and sits on a bench where she is now worrying about money and taking care of a younger sibling. She finds a newspaper that has a listing for an open house interview a few towns over. She takes a bus to this location dressed in her current attire- ABBA band shirt, leggings, and worn out sneakers. She arrives to the house after about an hour. She arrives after the open house. She knocks on the door and is greeted by a tall handsome man with a grumpy disposition. She is let in and meets his mother who has ALS. She is in a wheelchair. The son is short and grumpy with the young lady. He leaves the room for a moment and the young lady and the mother bond over ABBA. The son re-enters the room and dismisses the young woman. As she is leaving the property the mother wants the son to hire her because she was kind and treated her like a person and not a patient. The son disagrees and believes they should select a different candidate.
This is all that I can remember and the son may possibly be a pilot.
