Have to be honest - always hated his music (although, to be fair, I put that down to Jim Steinman's song writing and production).

The "Love Theme" from "Blade Runner" was my favorite bit of music by the man--that slow, sexy sax.

I have a number of his soundtracks, including the two you allude to. Good music to write to.

Well that's a big surprise. Can't picture him being any older than around 40.

Great character Philip Baker Hall has passed away. His film 'Hard Eight' is a good one and he was the library cop on Seinfeld.

>37 mejix:, was a time this would be the number one headline in the news, overshadowing everything else. The single-most important politician of the 1990s, imo, and an exemplary one who should stand as a model for all.

"I am often asked, would I have started it all again if I had to repeat it? Yes, indeed. And with more persistence and determination."

Thank you, Mikhail.

I was never a fan--Truffaut was more to my taste--but there is no disputing he was an innovator and auteur.

>58 Taphophile13:, I remember the impression she made in her interviews. You knew there wasn't anything she was afraid to ask, and there would always be something unexpected. The best hook for getting people to watch was always to show her asking some wild question and then you just HAD to find out what the response to that was going to be. Gold standard every other interviewer will be compared to.
