I'm (still) working through Blonde and The Three Kingdoms, but hope to read something shorter as well. Perhaps H(A)PPY will hit the spot.

I'm reading Bridehead Revisited by Waugh.
My intention for this year is to focus on the 1001 Books List. I'm aiming for 30!

For January, I am planning to read Doctor Zhivago and Of Mice and Men.
Also, I see the new edition is coming out on 8th February - I am interested to see what new books there are and which ones fall off the list!

I'm reading Tyll in book form and listening to On the Road on audio. Neither is really that satisfying.

>3 Jan_1: I enjoyed The plot against America when I read it a couple of years ago. I hope you do too.

Now I am reading The Elegance of the Hedgehog -- was this a newly added book, or one from the Dutch list? Anyway, I'm finding it quite annoying. According to the reviews it gets better, and I hope they are right.

I'm reading a small dose of Aesop's fables every day, working my way through Tyll, which I think is really good, and planning to read A Fine Balance next.

I've picked up Autumn of the Patriarch by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (reading a French translation). I'm finding the dense text, difficult to wade through, although the story is as delicious as any by GGM.
