Hello! On the "main page" of a work, how can I edit the series that are listed at the top under title & author? I am cataloging each volume of a series, and the the different volumes list different series, are not consistent. thanks!

Well, this depends on what you mean by inconsistency. Could you give a couple examples that we can help you out?

>2 gilroy: yes!
1. Getting to Know...Nature's Children - Coyote / Monarch Butterfly (v. 25)
https://www.librarything.com/work/6520276/book/207588231
lists only one series: "Series: Nature's Children"
compared to
2. Getting To Know... Nature's Children - Raccoons / Owls (v.3)
https://www.librarything.com/work/476245/book/207588043
which lists a different series: "Series: Dual Volume Nature's Children"
and
3. Getting to Know...Nature's Children - Pelicans / Snakes (v.16)
https://www.librarything.com/work/6524003/book/207587663
which lists BOTH series: "Series: Dual Volume Nature's Children, Nature's Children"

so how can I change it so all the works have the same series listed ?
and where would I see series in my "Your Books" chart listing?

Thanks for clarifying this all!

Ah, I see the problem ... Okay, I'm going to answer the last question first.

In the Your Books page, above the book count and next page indicator, there is a button that says "Settings" with a gear on it. Click on this to get to establishing the various views available within Your Books. If it is not already listed as one of the displayed options, you would want to go to the right hand column, under the common knowledge heading, then drag that to one of the display options. Remember which one! Then click Save. When you are back in Your Books, click on the letter at the top of the grid that corresponds with the series display you chose (if it wasn't in the one you presently had displayed) and it's not visible.

Now to edit series -- Unlike some other fields, Series can not be edited from You Books.
On each work, usually located below the reviews but above the Common Knowledge section, you'll see a section labeled Series and Work Relationships. Within that box is a link saying Add/Edit, which has two tabs. The first tab, that you'll be focused on, will be series. You can search for the series you want to add in the lower part of the box. If the series is the same author as the one of the book you're editing, you might find it in the list in the center. (Please always search before creating new.) When you click on the select series, it will take you to a new screen with a pop up asking if it is a core book or a different section and what it's label should be. This allows for sorting and print order, etc. When you click save, it gets added to the page. Click save on the new page and it's added to the series.

ok, I have done #1, and added "series" as a field for one of my display styles. Great! now can see what volume in the series is cataloged with which of the two series. Thanks!
So,
now to editing the series: I do not see the section "Series and Work Relationships" in the work page for any of my books.
ex:https://www.librarything.com/work/475188/workdetails/207601433
All I see is in the work page, it lists the series. If I click on that, I end up on the page of the Series. I've looked in every nook and cranny but cannot find the section you mention...
Mystery?
thanks again!

Not the work details page, the main page for the work.

>7 MarthaJeanne: thanks for the tip, but I still don't see it for any of my works/books

>8 ptalibrary: You are looking in the center column of the main work page, correct? Not on either side bar?

Should see something like this:

>9 gilroy: Ah, finally, I have seen the light! - the module, I mean. Not obvious, but glad to learn about it. Did add one volume to a collection. Thank you Gilroy for your clarification!
