"Media" and "Languages"

It's prob'ly obvious and I've just fergot, if'n I ever knew, but where do "Media" and "Languages" appear on LibraryThing's record for a given work? A case in point: The Fran Lebowitz Reader. To my knowledge, it's only published in paperback, and originally in English. When I edit my record (a "Wishlist" item), both fields appear on the edit page, but I don't see either on the work's main page, work details, book details, descriptions, common knowledge, or editions. What am I missing?

There is a field for "original language" in CK, but someone has to enter it. Nothing goes into CK automatically.

It wouldn't make sense to have "media" on the WD page or in CK, as a work may exist in more than one medium.

There's a field for "media" in your catalogue settings; you can customize the style you use and add it.

That I remember, the Media only shows up if it is other than book and on the Editions page.
Since the book in question is a paperback book, media is not going to show anywhere. It will be part of your profile statistics and a few other background things.

ETA: The info for you own catalog can be found in "statistics".

Original language is near the bottom of CK.

Work details show the various language titles that LT knows about.

Sources often include original language if it differs from main language. You generally have to add it to your entry if you want a complete record.

How did I miss that until now? Ah well.

I also see "Languages" and "Original language" among available Bibliographic fields among "Your Books" display style settings. I still don't see primary and secondary languages anywhere except on the edit page.

Let's take a different example, Hachette & Vox: Dictionnaire de poche français-espagnol et espagnol-français, where our record shows a primary (French) and secondary (Spanish) languages, but not an original language (it's prob'ly also French). The work details show, "Original language: Not set" and, under Language statistics, "French (1)."

I guess I'm just not understanding how languages (or media) are supposed to integrate with our catalogs.

You can add the language fields to any catalogue style you want.

You will also find language information about your account on your stats/memes page.

I'm just hijacking the thread to ask a question about Media. I use the English version of the website i.e. librarything.com, but "Paper Book" comes out as "Almindelig bog" in the export file. I wonder why and I wonder if I can alter it in any way?
Hardcover and Paperback come out as Hardcover and Paperback, so they are not translated into Danish.

I live in Austria, am fluent in German, but I would still be upset if part of my account were to suddenly show in German.
