Rachel (The_Hibernator) from MN is planning to visit Corvalis the week before Labor Day this fall. She mentioned that she'd love to see us! Not sure on dates yet, but I'll keep you posted. : )

Judy (ffortsa) from NY is hoping for a visit September 7-14 which is the following week. I don't know if there will be overlap (which could be one big party) or parties two weeks in a row (also fun). I expect to be here and am happy to host either or both.

>3 RebaRelishesReading: Currently debating if we want to come after our Tiburon trip or later on in the year. More details to come!

Ah, it always helps to talk to the hosts. Bonnie would prefer we come in October, so we will. She has a show opening at one of the museums that month, and we'd love to see it. She will even give us (whoever can make it) a private tour, and I think the exhibit is participatory! We can all sew on her parachute.

>3 RebaRelishesReading: Thanks for offering to host. We typically hit Powell's and some restaurant close by, but lets see what everyone wants to do as we get closer. I would love to see your new place!

>4 ffortsa: Eagerly awaiting more details!! : )

Hooray! Meet-ups. I love the brewery plus Powell's dates; but also it would be really fun to hang out on Reba's deck.... so I am kind of hoping we get to do some of both!

Both venue sounds great to me. Looking forward to it.

I take it that it is also in order to wish you a happy new thread, Jan?

9Oregonreader

Sadly, no. I'm not active enough to get many visitors to my thread so I never have more than one. But I will happily claim partial ownership of this one since I'll be greeting the visitors!

OK. The current plan is that we will arrive on October 13 and depart on October 18. I hope with this sampling of weekday and weekend time, everyone can meet! Bonnie has offered us a private tour on October 15 at 1PM, and she will be there on the weekend as well from 10AM to 4PM, for those who might have daytime obligations. Please let me know if you will be able to come on Friday the 15th.

I'll post our hotel name when we have one, in case we want a convenient place to meet besides the museum.

eta: flights purchased (I am so bad at planning travel, but I did it!)

Friday the 15th anytime works fine for me. I've put it on the calendar and await meeting place info. I love meet-ups and a private tour sounds wonderful.

Hubby would like to know if spouses are invited too.

>15 banjo123: Bummer Rhonda -- it's been ages

>16 RebaRelishesReading: But of course.

And yes, Rhonda, bummer. Can you meet another time anyway? There's always Powell's.
And my cousin will be doing public tours from time to time, and will be present on the weekend at the exhibit, so you will have a chance to see it and meet her if you like.

I plan to be there. Which museum are we touring? I must have missed that part.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

>18 Oregonreader: My cousin has been given an installation space at the Jewish Museum. That's where we are headed. No reason we can't go to other museums of course.

Oh, that's cool. I can try to get to the museum on the weekend. And I think I might be able to meet you all later, at Powell's or whatever. I didn't realize that the exhibit would be so central.

So Bonnie has a photo shoot scheduled for Friday morning, but will be delighted to see us a little after noon, for a tour and a talk and then lunch! The exhibit is at the Oregon Jewish Museum, 724 NW Davis St, Portland, OR 97209

Jim and I will be in town from the evening of Oct. 13th, leaving Oct. 18th. We will spend some time with Bonnie, of course, but we can certainly spend more time with our LT buddies!

Hubby and I plan to join you at least for the museum tour but we/I are also open to other plans :)

>28 banjo123: That's great!

Jim and I are happy to play most of the time by ear. We'll spend some time with Bonnie and her husband, of course, but as for the rest, we'll see you on Friday and whenever you're otherwise free. I'm glad that with Bonnie's aid I got a specific time for the artwork. I'm not great on planning.

This sounds like fun! I will probably not make it to the museum until close to 12:30, but will look forward to seeing you all then. Mrs. Banjo may join us, but probably not as she has another appointment that afternoon.

stolen from Reba's thread

Jim (magicians_nephew), Rhonda (Banjo123), Jan (Oregonreader), Judy (ffortsa), Julie (SuziQOregon), and Reba (RebaRelishesReading).. HOpe I got that right! Kim *Berly) couldn't make it that afternoon, but Jim and I saw her for dinner on Sunday before we left. She must have a picture around here somewhere.

Jim and I did get to Powell's (he bought books - I refrained), and we also saw a terrific play at Portland Center Stage, titled "Frida .. a Self Portrait", a one-woman and many prop show about Frida Kahlo. It will be available online some time in November.

read about it here

And you can read a bit about my cousin Bonnie's exhibit, and see pictures on Flikr, here

Hi strangers!! Not sure if anyone has this thread starred anymore, but The_Hibernator is coming out for a visit the last week in August before Labor Day and wants to know who might be interested in a meetup? I would be up for an outdoor venue. Have to play it safe before my daughter's wedding 9/3! Let me know if you are in. : )

Hooray for a meet-up. I am in, and pretty free that week. The only hiccup is that I may be isolating, depending on Wendy's surgery schedule. I will let you all know when I know more about that.

As for dates, I would prefer Sunday as I work during the week, but I could do an evening if that works better for people.

I might be available. Would love to see everyone!
