Found: YA Series Creative Girl, cross between Ramona and Alice

There was a book series I enjoyed as a pre-teen in the early 00s. The book was older, maybe 80s-90s. I really cannot remember. I do know the main character was a girl, she had a mom and dad, and the dad was a professor. I'm pretty sure at Harvard. She's very creative and gets into scrapes. I think her mom had a baby.
