I'm trying to find a children's book that I owned around 2003 - I think it was a bit older than that, as I got most of my books secondhand. It was quite a large book, hard covers with a dust jacket. It was a collection of stories narrated by different teddy bears "around the fire on a winter's evening" (something like that). I think the stories had names along the lines of "The Short Story of the Small Bear". The stories I remember were:
- One told by a really old bear, set in Edwardian times, about him and his friends and their human owners meeting in a park for a picnic.
- A very short story about a tiny bear who came to live with the other bears. He was so tiny that no one knew where he was, though they thought he was still living there now: "perhaps one of you youngsters can spot him", and there was a picture (I could never find him though!!).
- A "scary" story, I think it had a mysterious castle in it? I remember the bear telling it saying to the younger bears "if you are frightened, snuggle up to one of the older bears." Then the next story started with something like "Goodness, that was scary. You can all come out now." And there was a picture of the bears coming out from hiding behind their chairs.
- There might have been a story about a bear getting left at the Lost & Found on a railway, but I'm not sure.

It was a very charming book, nice illustrations too. I think the covers were blue. I'd like to see it again.
