One of the greatest science fiction/fantasy novels ever published, The Anubis Gates takes literary history, lycanthropy, the Knights Templar, and a bizarre cast of characters into one of the most original and memorable time travel stories ever published.
The book is designed by Jacob McMurray, and he also created a fold-out map of London and an infographic regarding the exploits of Dog-Faced Joe. These inserts are simply astonishing and complement the text and book design. The book is bound in imported cloth and housed in a slipcase that can only be called unique.

I had no idea. That sounds fantastic and the book itself looks wonderful. Secondary Market price = ouch.

All I can say is: oh my.
I recently read the book but just now realised Centipede Press had issued this edition. In my opinion, the story is worthy of such treatment. In particular the fold-out map and the deleted scenes are tempting, but the entire production looks great. Thanks for sharing, wcarter.

In my opinion, this is not one of the better Centipede Press publications. I had this some years ago (traded it). I thought the overall quality was simply not up to par. Mind you, the illustrations are gorgeous, and it's a fun read, but the quality of this volume was not good - at least that was my experience. That said >1 wcarter: wcarter: lovely pictures :)

>7 astropi: Anything specific about the quality that was substandard?

>8 ultrarightist: the binding was not good, the slipcase did not close very well (although it did close), the paper felt cheap (it was), there might have been a few other things. I know I complained about this to Centipede, and I think it was after this book (or close to it) that they cut off ties with printers in China.

I have not noticed any of the quality problems that you have mentioned.

>10 wcarter: I might have been unlucky, but there were a few CP books I had issues with. They include
The Anubis Gates
The Forever War
Henry Kuttner - Masters of the Weird Tale
My other CP books were fine, but I do think others had some issues too which is why CP parted with the printers in China.
