I ordered 4 of the 8

The Worm Ouroboros - ER Eddison - taking a huge chance here

Did not order
The Woman in White - Wilkie Collins - already have LEC edition

Is there any way to get a hold of the flyer or is it only for subscribers?

I ordered the Tale of a Tub. I was an English major many moons ago, so I felt compelled. I already have Folio Society edition of The Woman in White, which is a great book, by the way, if you haven't read it.

>1 sdawson: by any chance does the flier have a picture of the binding design for The Worm Ouroboros? If so, would it be possible to upload a picture?

I’ve been looking for a decent edition of this for a while. It might end up being my first Easton!

The original internal illustrations are also black and white, so will probably reproduce well using Easton’s printing processes.

Regarding the story itself, Eddison is something of an acquired taste, almost a “what might have been” for the fantasy genre. It can be slow going in parts, but the language is also totally unique. For a review, I recommend this blog post (may have some spoilers, but, much like classical epic poetry, the plot is not the primary point of The Worm Ouroboros).

Some examples of the original illustrations:

I received my copy of The Worm Ouroboros today. Inside, it's very much like the edition pictured above, but with a standard EP binding. Same illustrations and small type.

The outside looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/j2xL4Cy.jpeg

>16 treereader: That looked like a nice one. I would have gotten it had I not already owned the Suntup edition.

>18 whytewolf1:

I didn’t know Suntup made a version...that’s pretty cool. If I remember my reasoning correctly, WhenI ordered it, I wanted to get the precursor to the Silence of the Lambs, which I have from EP.

Thank you >17 whytewolf1: If everyone else that received one of these Readers Choice titles would post the item number for each from their invoice I would appreciate it.

>19 treereader: Makes sense. And yes, Suntup has actually done very nice versions of both Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs. I imagine they may also release Hannibal within the next year or so.

I had ordered Tale of a Tub from EP back in April. Up until last week it said it would ship on October 12, and I was looking forward to receiving it. But now I see that they've changed it to "now accepting orders" and "this product will be available December 10." They must be having production issues.

The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie shipped yesterday. I received The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins a couple of weeks ago. I'm still awaiting The Night Horseman by Max Brand.
