Page sort not working correctly

Hello! I'm trying to sort my library by page count and it doesn't seem to be working correctly. Seems fine when sorting from high-to-low, but low-to-high is very mixed up. For example, on the first page are these page counts in the order they are displayed: 503, 1009, 312, 640. It would seem to be subsorting with other data but there's nothing chosen under "Subsort by" in the "Edit sort order" window. No filters are applied; the view is Your Library. I searched the Wiki but the only page I found on sorting doesn't mention this issue. I did find some posts about similar sorting issues but they were all from 2011. Is this a known bug or something I'm doing wrong? Let me know if you need more info. Thank you!

Are the numbers you are seeing Green or Black?

While you think that your sort "seems fine when sorting from high-to-low" it doesn't look it to me. If I look at pages near the end of the search (page 53) the order of the page numbers is very mixed up.

Searching on a smaller subset of your library, Formerly Owned, clearly shows there is a problem. Perhaps you could try editing the page numbers in the books that don't sort in this 22 book subset to see if it reveals any problem in the way the page numbers are entered? I note all your books were entered on the same day - there may have been a problem with the import.

I'd not tried it before but my library seems to sort on page numbers OK, even to the point that LT computes total pages in multiple volume works and understands roman numerals and adds them to the page count (so a book with xi+710 pages is recognised as having more pages than a book with 720 pages).

I guess there's something wrong with the way your data has been entered.

My library is sorting on pages properly except for when the data is green. Maybe that is your issue.

>4 al.vick: That's why I was trying to get more information in >2 gilroy:, but got ignored.

>1 captainsunbeam: If you have numbers in GREEN in your page number field, those are blanks in your catalog, the data is just an average of everything entered into the field for that work. Sorting will put them in the blank field range.

If the numbers are BLACK, then they are populated in your catalog and could be a potential sorting bug, but we need to know what color they are.

If you look at captainsunbeam's catalogue you can see all of his page numbers are BLACK. Some of the book dimensions are in GREEN, but all of the page numbers are BLACK.

I think I found the problem. Using the subset in my Formerly owned collection (thanks for the suggestion >3 newcrossbooks:), I noticed the pagination type was set to Roman numerals for all of them. When I changed it to numbers, the sort worked as expected. Thank you to all who pitched in to help figure it out :)
