Weird sorting

When I look up the collected works ('Volledige Werken') of (Willem Frederik) Hermans, http://www.librarything.com/catalog/boekl&deepsearch=hermans+volledige , I get 20 books. They are ordered by Entry Date. That is correct.
But when I click on "Title" to re-order the result, I assume the list of results would start with "Volledige Werken deel 01". The result, however, starts with "Volledige Werken deel 06". I manually re-entered the 06 volume, but the result remains the same. How to correct this? Or more likely: which stupid mistake did I make?

It looks like the sort character of that book's title is 5 (whereas your other books are sorting on the 1st character), so it's sorting on the "e" in the title, rather than the "V" like the other titles in your library. I'm not sure why that is, if you didn't actively set the sort character when adding the book.

Regardless, you can edit the sort character from the book's edit page, in the drop-down menu to the right of the title field. I hope this helps!

I guess the sort character indeed is the issue here.
There already is a topic for sort characters automatically (and incorrectly) being changed, but until now with non-latin characters (see https://www.librarything.com/topic/330337), which I don't think is the case here.

boekl; to change this, edit your book; immediately to the right of the title is a small field, with a drop down option - this now shows a 5, but should be blank.
You can change this when you want to sorting start at a different position than the first, eg when the title starts with De, Het or Een.

Thanks guys, that "sorting character" was indeed the cause of this unwanted behaviour. I would Never have thought about that. There is no label on the editing screen, just the number of the sorting character, if it has been set, or just a pulldown list when no number has been set.
@Antheli: indeed, my question was not related to non-Latin characters.
Anyway, my issue is solved, thanks to Kristilabrie and Antheli!

boekl (#4):

Yeah, that's a bug that's been reported previously; see https://www.librarything.com/topic/328682

(When looking that up I found a very similar issue, also from boekl, from a few months ago: https://www.librarything.com/topic/324090#7258618 ).

>1 boekl: Do you know if you happened to change the title on that book? Maybe it came in with "The" or another sort of article? Because it looks like when you update the title, it doesn't change the sort character number.

Not a bug.
