Main character leaves his city life to go and live in a fishing village
I seem to remember that he was a professor or a teacher
He lives in a tent up on a hill and walks down into the town to shop and eat
He goes on and on about philosophical issues and debates with himself constantly overanalyzing everything that happens or has happened
He meets a married woman that is a shop keeper (or maybe the husband was a shopkeeper and she helps out) and ends up having sex with her in a shed
He worries towards the end of the book that he might have gotten the woman pregnant, and decides that he has overstayed his welcome and decides to leave
