I have very little information about this book. Four different pieces that could be part of two books even.

Read around late 2017-2019. It was in the children's sections of my library. I'm guessing it was in the new releases section 'cause i always went there. However, I am not 100% sure. I could have picked this up in a book fair or store, too. Fantasy or Dystopia? I think it's a standalone?

Puzzle Piece #1:
This is kind of the backstory of the story...
There are two twins, living with their parents. I'm pretty sure one was a boy. When one was maybe 6 (not sure..) he/she was sent away. I think it was because they were twins? Or maybe because each family could only have one kid?
Anyway, I think this dying/hurt old lady came there and the family took care of her for like 2 days? I'm pretty sure the Twins was supposed to be sent away a couple days after. The Twin to be sent away was visiting her, and I think she was there in her dying moments. I think the Old lady told her/him something important which frightened her/him. Something about a necklace or a mark, maybe?

*I'm feeling like its a her, now. and maybe the book was in her perspective, maybe based around what happened after she was sent away. I think she was sent to a village. Maybe the real MC of the story goes there (?)*

Puzzle Piece #2:
This is the piece that I least remember.
There is this tower(?) and the MC has to get there(?). Maybe a twin became bad and MC is stopping her/him (?) I think there is a traveling scene in the book.

Puzzle Piece #3:
The MC fights with someone(?) and ends up getting in a room with tanks in it. I think it was described as a Rectangular Cuboid (not exact words), filled with water. Anyway, the MC breaks(?) the glass and gets one person out of the tank and brings him(?) out. He(?) accompanies MC in the tower.

Puzzle Piece #4:
I'm pretty sure this goes with Puzzle Piece #3.
The MC escapes guards(?) and comes to a room where he sees the bad guy. I think they talk. IDK what happens afterward.
