A beautiful little book that was received with pages uncut, indicating that it was unread after more than 90 years. Pages cut by using a plastic playing card.

A rather mawkish and over-sentimental love story, set mainly in Naples in about 1850, in which a young French man becomes involved with a local fisher-girl.

It is rather a nice little book, isn't it? Yes, I have one.

A handsome volume! I particularly like the typographic choices and the ornaments.
