Series in Common Knowledge not found

I have several books which i want to add either to an existing series or a new one. depends on if there is an existing correspoding series.
According to the FAQ, there should be a field called "series" in the "Common knowledge".
But all my books that are not in a series dont have this field like this one:
https://www.librarything.com/work/22655568/commonknowledge/177987458

Is this a bug or is the bug infront of the monitor?

Series is now in its own area on the main page.

It's under 'series and work relationships' on the work page of the book now. FAQ needs updating

Do you mean with "work page" -> "Edit your book" or "Work Details".
I cant find any "work page".

On "Edit your book" and "Work Details" i cant find any "'series and work relationships"

For the book you linked:
https://www.librarything.com/work/22655568/summary/177987458

Go to this link, scroll down to the section just above the common knowledge. This would be labeled Series and Work Relationships. Click on Add/Edit to add the series as you need.

Except in this case the German copies just needed to be combined with the main work which was already in a series.

Most of the links sudenly dont work anymore.

How to do this:
Except in this case the German copies just needed to be combined with the main work which was already in a series.
https://www.librarything.com/work/16614274

I have all the german books from https://www.librarything.com/nseries/2590/Oregon-Files
But number 4 and 6 are missing in the list (no green hook).
Here are the books: No 4.
https://www.librarything.com/work/56075/book/177987211
No. 6
https://www.librarything.com/work/1550713/book/177987175

If i want to add one of the books to the above series, im getting the message that i want to add the book "Serpent" to the collection. But that is not the correct book...

>8 icerno78: The easiest way to combine works is to add both (or more in some cases) to the workbench and then combine. Workbench is under advanced section in the lower right corner on work pages. You can also combine from author page

Thx for the Info, but im running into a strange problem here (at least for me).

I click on this book: (Schlangenjagd) https://www.librarything.com/work/56075/book/177987211
add it to the work bench.
Then i click on the english version of this book: (Skeleton Coast) https://www.librarything.com/work/937371
and add it aswell to the work bench.
After that i open the work bench to combine these 2 books.
But instead of seeing the 2 Books "Schlangenjagd" and "Skeleton Coast"
i see "Serpent" and "Skeleton Coast"

What have i done wrong?
Sorry, for maybe all these newbie questions

>10 icerno78: That's because your book is combined with the ones titled Serpent. I'm not familiar with the series, but if you're sure Schlgenjagd is Skeleton Coast and not Serpent, I can separate it and then combine where appropriate

Edit: Done. For some reason it was combined with the wrong work.

>11 SandraArdnas:

I am certain that Schlangenjagd isn't Serpent. Schlangenjagd was co-written with Jack Du Brul (cover images from Amazon and elsewhere). Serpent was co-written with Paul Kempreco. German wikipedia has Schlangenjagd being a translation of Skeleton Coast and Amazon.co.uk shows it as being book 4 of the Oregon Files series which also correlates to Skeleton Coast.

The link in >10 icerno78: is wrong as it has the work number of Serpent. Your copy is currently https://www.librarything.com/work/937371/book/177987211.

Thank you for noticing the problem and not combining the works.

According to google, Kaperfahrt also needs to be separated from The Mediterranean Caper and combined with Corsair, so I'll do those too. Let me know if everything is then as it should be

>13 MarthaJeanne: That's because you checked when I separted it.

Should be fine now. Someone familiar with the series should perhaps check whether there are any other translations wrongly combined

The next (same) issue is with the Series "NUMA Files": https://www.librarything.com/nseries/1825/NUMA-Files

Book No.3 in the series is in English "Fire Ice".
In German it would be "Flammendes Eis". But somehow as No.3 "Höllenschlund" is linked as the german version of "Fire Ice".
"Höllenschlund" is the correct No.7 for the English Title "The Navigator"

Book No. 6 in the series is in English "Polar Shift".
In German it would be "Packeis". But as No. 6 "Eiskalte Brandung" is linked as the german version of "Polar Shift".
"Eiskalte Brandung" is the correct No.8 for the English Title "Medusa".

The next (same) issue is with the Series "Isaac Bell":
https://www.librarything.com/nseries/4309/Isaac-Bell
Book No.6 in the series is in English "The Striker".
In German it would be "Die Gnadenlosen". If i want to add it to the workbench it shows up as "High Citadel" with is a completely wrong name.

I hope i described the errors in the needed detail to fix them.

>17 icerno78:

Yep all that looks like we can fix it. It looks like there has been a fair bit of bad work combination with German and English works by Cussler.

For example looking at Fire Ice I can see from the editions that it has the German "Flammendes Eis" and "Höllenschlund" both combined into it. The ""Höllenschlund" copies will need to be separated out and combined correctly with The Navigator

Another "bug" in series: OP-Center from Tom Clancy: https://www.librarything.com/nseries/3197/Tom-Clancy%E2%80%99s-Op-Center
No.10 in English: "Sea of Fire"
No.10 in German: "Feuersturm"
As you can see in the series, No 10 has a double entry.
I wanted to combine the 2 books, but in the german version there seems to be other books already inside:
...
Memoiren eines Spatzen des Jahrhunderts : Erzhlungen / Claire Goll / (ISBN 3453430549) (separate)
Memoiren eines Spatzen des Jahrhunderts : Erzählungen / Claire Goll / (ISBN 3453430549) (separate)
OP-Center: Feuersturm / Jeff Rovin / (ISBN 3453430549) (separate)
OP-Center: Feuersturm / Tom Clancy / (ISBN 3453430549) (separate)
...

The first to entries are wrong, can i delete them with that seperate button?
Before im doing something wrong, id rather ask here before since you helped me really good in the last days!

>19 icerno78:

Yes. Using Separate is exactly what you should do.

Also BTW these kind of issues are probably best asked in the Combiners! group - although you will find yourself talking to many of the same people.

>19 icerno78: When separating, if there's more than one edition to separate, it's also more convenient to add to workbench and separate from there because you'll be able to separate more than one in a single go. From the editions page, it separates one, refreshes and then you go again.

If needed, post any combination issues in Combiners group and someone will usually assist within minutes

>19 icerno78: These aren't bugs. They are bad combinations.
