Hi people, i'm new here so not sure how this works... i am looking for 2 books that i don't remember their titles or author.

1) a historical regency romance novel i think from the 1990's, the plot was about a poor father who lost a bet to an earl/lord/duke (not sure of the hero's title) so in exchange he marries his daughter to this guy who has a scar on his face ( his bitter cause his former fiance had cheated on him or something) so he is very harsh to his new bride, but then later on his brother comes along and befriends his wife so he then realizes that he loves his wife.

2) a cinderella like plot where a step mother marries off her step daughter to a ruthless guy, and tells her not to move when she is having sex, so whenever her husband gets intimate she starts focusing on counting so that she stays still. its an old novel as well probably from harlequin or mills and boon, not so sure.

the descriptions sounds vague but please help if it sounds familiar to any1...

thank u in advance

The First book sounds like Never Romance a Rake by Liz Carlyle.
"Baron Rothewell lives a dark, shuttered existence by day, and a life of reckless abandon by night. Scarred by a childhood filled with torment and deprivation, Rothewell cares very little for anyone or anything. His life on the edge of ruin suits him - until he meets a man who just might be his nemesis. The Comte de Valigny likes to play dangerously, but Rothewell's recklessness is undeterred. Until one night when de Valigny wagers something just a little more valuable than gold: his bastard daughter. Mademoiselle Marchand is a desperate woman in a strange land, and her pleading eyes seem to swallow Lord Rothewell body and soul - assuming he still has one. Now the baron must play his hand with the utmost care, for at last something meaningful is at stake..." summary from google
