The "Post message" button for topics partway disappears as soon as text is entered in the message box. What I see is the top of the brown button, no longer in line with the "Preview" button.

Yes, >2 AnnieMod: will be helpful.

This is also happening in Chrome on a Windows 7 machine.

I haven't been able to reproduce this but will keep trying. Can you post screenshots of what you're seeing, perhaps?
7AnnieMod
Just a thought - can you also check what is the zoom/magnification percentage in your browser?
8kristilabrie
>7 AnnieMod: Good idea!

Doesn't happen to me in Chrome on a Mac, whether I'm on the big external monitor or the tiny (15") laptop screen, even if I crank up the magnification many times.

Adding text causes the button to look like this:
If you click the Preview button, then the button reverts to the normal/expected "Post Message" button, but as soon as you start typing in the text box again it turns into the brown bar. It still works as a button, but you have to know what it is supposed to be.
Edited to add: I haven't fiddled with the zoom settings on my browser; I'm viewing LibraryThing at 100%.

The button looks and acts the same as what >10 shadrach_anki: describes.
This is occurring on the Mobile view. I'm on a mobile device. LT Talk doesn't allow me to zoom in or out.
On the Desktop view, the Save button looks the same as the Preview and Cancel buttons, as usual.

It's working fine for me on Chrome on my Android phone. Typing in the text box causes the Post message button to turn Brown but the text is still readable.

I just tested in Chrome on my Android phone and tablet, and the button is still fully visible/readable in both cases.
I'm wondering about the "style" (as in the "Change Style" option) perhaps contributing?

Testing from my phone (Android OS and Chrome browser) and the buttons behave as expected. Switching between styles on my computer did not modify the behavior I was seeing there, however.
15aspirit
>13 lorax: Changing the style is not making a difference for me. When nothing is in the message box, the Post (what I earlier misremembered as "Save") button appears normal. When text is added to the box, that button turns brown (okay), shrinks in height, and mostly disappears.

>16 aspirit: seems unlikely to be internet speed; mine is 51 Mbps per Fast, and I'm seeing the issue on the computer, but not on my phone.

Do you have any add-ons or extensions to Chrome? If you log in in an incognito window, do you have the same problem?

My current theory is it might have to do with the age of my browser (cannot update). Checked on a different computer (Windows 10) in Firefox and the button behaves as expected, doesn't disappear, etc.

aspirit (#21):
My browser seems to up-to-date.
That's on mobile, correct? So what we see now is a single report of the problem in an outdated Chrome/Windows setup and multiple reports on Chrome/Android (and multiple reports of the button working normally on Chrome/Android as well). Am I missing any instances of the problem?

I'm trying to reproduce in various Chrome/Android installs (using the android simulator for this). Haven't found anything yet.
We also haven't been able to reproduce on desktop. But we're trying.

I'm still trying to pin this down, but no updates yet.

I think this is now fixed.
