Having received a copy of Helen Macdonald's Vesper Flights (2020), I'm particularly interested now to pull out and read her earlier work, H Is for Hawk (2014). I'm generally aware that there's also a certain relation, maybe even synchronicity, with T.H. White's The Goshawk (1951). I'd welcome other LT members' insights on the necessity, profitability, or wisdom of reading either White before Macdonald, or H Is for Hawk before Vesper Flights. Thanks, y'all!

I've only read H, but it seemed to stand alone well enough and didn't require Goshawk to make sense. I found it mostly unrelated to hawks and more of her personal journey.
