Hi everyone,

Looking to pare down my shelves a bit -- though I can't promise not to acquire more than I Root out -- but I will try!

Welcome aboard and good luck! I think most of us struggle to keep our acquisitions lower than our ROOTs read... especially when everyone in the group is reading so many interesting-sounding books! ;)

Thanks for the welcomes!

My other reading goal for the year is to complete 8 of the many series that I have started and not finished. I have many of these books on my shelves, so it will be a twofer for me each time I read one :)

First one down, The Guilt of Innocents by Candace Robb, part of the Owen Archer mystery series. I did not enjoy this one as much as other entries, but I will finish the three remaining books in the series this year as part of my other reading goal.

Second one completed. An advance copy of Come Fly the World. Very interesting account of Pan Am's role in the "jet set" age of international travel.

It was really good, so well researched.

I have a third root done, Face Value one of of The Rachel Gold Mysteries by Michael Kahn, a series that I am trying to complete.

It was a good one, though not the best so far.

Another Rachel Gold Mystery. This one was one of the better ones.
Only one more in the series to go.

Thanks for stopping by. I have been reading alot of library books but just last night I finished my eighth root,
Badger's Moon. I forget how much I like the Sister Fidelma mysteries until I pick one up again. This was a particularly good one.

>24 beach85: I got a whole lot of ebooks from my brother and when I searched for this Sister Fidelma books in that list I found 15 of his books translated into Dutch. So maybe I will start the first one sometime in this year.

Terrific. I hope you enjoy it. The early ones are very hard to find here. Our big library only has the later ones, from around 2010 on. I have to scavenge used book sales and sites like Thriftbooks to find them.

Finished another root last night -- a terrific one, and almost missed it as I don't read "horror" generally.

#13 The Day of the Lie

I have very much enjoyed every one of the books in this series so far. The lead character is a former barrister who becomes a monk, and is written by a former Anglican friar who became a lawyer. This one was a bit slower going than the others, but still good. I recommend these if you like cerebral thrillers with questions of morality, ethics or theology thrown in.

#14 Mrs. Jeffries Weeds the Plot
This is such a reliable series, perfect for when you want a quick, fun cozy mystery. Visiting with these characters reminds me of how much I used to love Upstairs Downstairs.
